The challenge
Aurora Coach Tours is a premium Australian coach tour operator specialising in fully escorted, luxury travel experiences designed primarily for senior and mature travellers. With a strong reputation for quality, comfort, and service, their offering is well regarded offline, but their existing website no longer reflected the calibre of the brand.
The previous site had become dated in both design and structure. It lacked the sense of refinement and trust expected from a premium tour provider, and did not fully showcase the quality of Aurora’s experiences, destinations, or service standards. Photography was underutilised, layouts felt crowded, and the overall presentation did not convey the warmth, clarity, and confidence needed to resonate with their target audience.
From a usability perspective, the site was difficult to navigate, particularly for older users. Tour information was not always easy to find or digest, and the booking journey lacked clarity. Behind the scenes, their current CMS had become cumbersome to manage, making it time-consuming for the team to update and roll over a large catalogue of tour packages each year.
Aurora Coach Tours needed a website that would elevate their digital presence, reflect their premium positioning, and deliver a clear, accessible, and user-friendly experience for senior travellers, while also simplifying ongoing content management for their internal team.
What we did
The project began with a detailed discovery phase focused on understanding Aurora’s audience, product offering, and operational requirements. Jimmyweb reviewed the existing site from both a user and administrator perspective, identifying opportunities to improve clarity, usability, and visual impact.
A key priority was ensuring the website felt welcoming, intuitive, and easy to use for senior travellers. We restructured the site architecture to present tour packages clearly, with logical navigation, improved readability, and consistent layouts that help users quickly understand destinations, inclusions, and itineraries without feeling overwhelmed.
Design played a critical role in repositioning the brand online. We introduced a refined, contemporary visual language built around clean layouts, generous spacing, neutral tones, and high-quality photography. This approach allowed the destinations and experiences to take centre stage, reinforcing the premium nature of Aurora’s tours while maintaining warmth and approachability.
Content was carefully structured to be informative and reassuring, providing the detail senior travellers expect while remaining clear and easy to scan. Calls to action were placed thoughtfully to guide users through enquiry and booking without pressure or confusion.
Just as importantly, we focused on improving the CMS experience. Tour templates were custom-built to allow Aurora’s team to efficiently update pricing, dates, and inclusions each year, reducing friction and saving significant time internally.
