Norfolk Blinds

Project: Wordpress Website

Sector: Property + Construction

Jimmyweb designed and developed the website for Norfolk Blinds, a long-established Australian manufacturer specialising in high-quality blinds and window furnishing systems for commercial and multi-residential projects, with a history dating back to 1976 and a national footprint serving builders, architects, and trade partners. The bespoke WordPress build is shaped around a clear repositioning, using considered layouts, consistent typography, and strong project imagery to shift perception from residential retailer to commercial manufacturer, with dedicated pathways and accessible technical resources for the specifier, builder, and trade audiences.

Norfolk Blinds is a long-established Australian manufacturer specialising in high-quality blinds and window furnishing systems for commercial and multi-residential projects. With a history dating back to 1976, the business has grown into a national operation, working closely with builders, architects, and trade partners across the country. Known for their reliability, manufacturing capability, and depth of experience, Norfolk Blinds has built a reputation as a trusted supplier for projects where quality, consistency, and delivery matter.

Norfolk Blinds came to us with a clear objective. Their existing website no longer reflected the scale of their business or the type of work they were delivering. While they had strong relationships in the industry, their online presence felt closer to a residential blinds retailer than a commercial manufacturer.

A key challenge was repositioning the business without losing the essence of what made it successful. The new website needed to speak directly to builders, architects, and trade clients, while still remaining approachable and easy to navigate. It also needed to clearly communicate capability, national reach, and the ability to deliver on larger, more complex projects.

Another important requirement was improving access to technical information. Architects and specifiers rely on clear documentation, product details, and resources, and the previous site made this harder than it needed to be. The new platform had to support real-world workflows, not just act as a marketing piece.

What we did

We approached the project with a strong focus on positioning and structure. From the outset, we worked to clarify how Norfolk Blinds should present themselves online, ensuring the messaging aligned with their role as a commercial manufacturer rather than a general supplier.

The site architecture was carefully planned to support different user groups. Builders, architects, and trade clients each have different needs, so we created clear pathways throughout the site to help users quickly find relevant information. This included dedicated sections, improved navigation, and a more logical flow across key pages.

Visually, the design was kept clean, confident, and professional. We used a considered layout, consistent typography, and strong project imagery to reinforce credibility and experience. The goal was to create a website that feels established and dependable, without overcomplicating the interface.

We also placed a strong emphasis on usability. Product pages were reworked to balance technical detail with clarity, ensuring information is easy to understand while still being comprehensive. Supporting resources such as specifications and product documentation were integrated in a way that makes them easy to access and use.

The tech stack

The website was custom designed and developed on WordPress, providing Norfolk Blinds with a flexible and scalable platform. The build allows their team to manage content, update products, and expand resources over time without being restricted by rigid templates.

Alongside the build, we provided website hosting, as well as ongoing maintenance and support. This ensures the site remains secure, up to date, and performing reliably as the business continues to grow.

Speed optimisation

The site has been carefully optimised for speed, with a focus on fast load times across both desktop and mobile. This not only improves the overall user experience but also supports stronger search engine visibility. A faster site makes it easier for users to engage with content, access product information, and move through the site without friction.

Bringing It All Together

The final result is a website that aligns closely with Norfolk Blinds’ position in the market. It presents the business as a capable, experienced manufacturer with the systems and expertise to support commercial and multi-residential projects.

More importantly, the site functions as a practical tool for their audience. Builders can quickly understand capability, architects can access the resources they need, and trade partners can engage with the business more efficiently. It supports real interactions, not just first impressions.

What we loved

We really valued the clarity of direction on this project. Norfolk Blinds had a strong understanding of where they wanted to take the business, which allowed us to focus on refining their positioning and translating that into a structured, effective website. It was a great example of how clear thinking and thoughtful execution can come together to produce a site that feels purposeful and easy to use.

What they loved

The Norfolk Blinds team were particularly pleased with how accurately the new website reflects their business. It now communicates their capability, experience, and focus on commercial projects in a way that feels aligned with the work they deliver. They also appreciated the improved structure of the site, making it easier for their clients to find information, access resources, and engage with the business with confidence.
