Olox is a premium Australian haircare brand built around a clear and differentiated philosophy… personalised haircare based on hair porosity. As a new brand entering a highly competitive beauty market, Olox needed more than just a website; it needed a digital presence that could establish credibility, communicate its unique approach, and connect with a discerning audience from the outset.

Unlike traditional haircare brands, Olox’s core differentiator lies in its porosity-based system, where products are tailored to how different hair types absorb and retain moisture. This concept, while powerful, required careful explanation and positioning to ensure it was both accessible and compelling to potential customers.

As a completely new brand, there was no existing digital foundation to build upon. The challenge was to create a modern, premium eCommerce experience that not only introduced the brand, but also clearly articulated its philosophy, educated users, and guided them toward the right products.

At the same time, the website needed to balance storytelling with conversion – using strong visuals and content to build trust and desire, while maintaining clear calls to action that drive engagement and sales.

Olox required a website that would elevate the brand from day one, communicate its point of difference with clarity, and position it confidently within the premium haircare space.

What we did

The project began with a strategic discovery phase, focused on understanding the Olox brand, its philosophy, and its target audience. Particular attention was given to how the concept of hair porosity could be translated into a clear and intuitive user experience.

A key priority was ensuring the brand’s differentiator was not lost in complexity. We worked to simplify and structure the messaging so users could quickly understand the value of porosity-based haircare, while still maintaining a sense of depth and credibility.

The design direction is clean, modern, and premium. A restrained aesthetic, refined typography, and generous spacing were used to create a calm and confident visual identity that aligns with the brand’s positioning. High-quality imagery and video were integrated throughout the site to showcase the products, ingredients, and rituals behind the brand, creating a strong emotional connection with users.

We carefully structured the site to balance education and conversion. Informational content around hair porosity and product benefits was woven seamlessly into the user journey, supported by clear and intuitive calls to action that guide users toward product discovery and purchase.

Navigation was designed to be simple and purposeful, ensuring users can easily explore the brand, understand the product range, and move through the purchase process without friction.

The result is a cohesive experience that introduces the brand, communicates its philosophy, and supports a seamless path to conversion.

The tech stack

The website was custom designed and custom built on Shopify, providing Olox with a robust and scalable eCommerce platform tailored to its specific needs.

A bespoke front-end experience was developed to deliver a unique, brand-led design without the constraints of off-the-shelf themes. This approach ensures flexibility, performance, and a highly refined user experience across all devices.

The Shopify platform provides Olox with a powerful and user-friendly backend, enabling efficient product management, order processing, and ongoing growth as the brand evolves.

Speed optimisation

Speed was a key consideration throughout the build, particularly given the use of rich media. The site delivers fast load times and smooth interactions, ensuring a premium experience across desktop and mobile.

The result is a refined, high-performing eCommerce website that successfully introduces Olox as a premium, differentiated haircare brand.

The new site clearly communicates the brand’s philosophy, with the concept of porosity-based haircare positioned as a central and accessible idea. Through a combination of clean design, strong visual storytelling, and thoughtful user experience, the website builds trust, engages users, and supports conversion.

With a bespoke design, optimised performance, and a scalable Shopify platform, Olox now has a digital foundation that supports brand growth, customer education, and ongoing commercial success.
